Polyethylene container for the safe storage of corrosive, aggressive waste and waste soaked with substances threatening water contamination. The specially designed lid closes when the foot pedal is released, isolating the contents of the container from sources of fire and ignition, and limiting oxygen access, which practically prevents spontaneous combustion of the contents. The seamless HDPE polyethylene construction is resistant to most chemicals, corrosion, and dents. Side handles make the container easier to handle. A warning label indicates hazardous contents.
