Wardrobe 8/10 BASIC is the ideal solution for safe charging and storage of lithium-ion batteries and electrical devices. It guarantees fire protection for 60 minutes (confirmed in accordance with DIN EN 1363-1) and early hazard detection thanks to intelligent smoke sensors. Built from non-combustible and fire-resistant materials. 

Features of the battery charging cabinet:

• Safe charging of 18 batteries simultaneously – 2 strips with 9 sockets, 230 V version (3500 W, 16 A) or 400 V version with three-phase power supply (2 x 3500 W / 2 x 16 A)
• Automatic power disconnection – charging is interrupted when a failure or temperature increase is detected
• Early warning – two wireless battery-powered smoke detectors signaling fire risk inside and outside the cabinet
• Confirmed fire resistance – 60 minutes of protection according to DIN EN 1363-1, MPA tests and TÜV NORD certificate (M02/22)
• lockEX technology with controlled pressure reduction – a special spring lock prevents the door from opening in the event of an explosion
• Doors closed with a solid lock and hinges
• Advanced fire and smoke protection – fire-resistant seals, smoke ingress prevention system, thermocouples in ventilation openings

lockEX 2.0 cabinets for lithium-ion batteries and rechargeable batteries have been tested in accordance with the current VDMA test method, dedicated to hazards associated with Li-ion technology. The test confirms that the solution meets the highest fire safety standards and addresses real risks occurring in industry.

What does the VDMA test cover?

• simulation of ignition and the so-called thermal runaway of Li-ion batteries,
• verification of whether fire, temperature, and fire gases remain inside the cabinet,
• assessment of the protection of the surroundings, infrastructure, and personnel.
