Fire-resistant cabinet for lithium-ion batteries, size XL 90 min, 1200 x 600 x 2050 mm

90 min fire-resistant cabinet is the ideal solution for safe storage of lithium batteries. It provides battery protection against fire, leaks, and other hazards.

• Made entirely of cold-pressed steel sheet with a thickness of 1/1.5 mm.
• Insulation resistant to extreme temperatures up to 800 °C.
• Interior finish with high resistance even to aggressive vapors.
• Hydraulic door closing at ambient temperatures above 47°C.
• The ventilation ducts close at a temperature of 70°C.
• Lower spill containment sump (in accordance with EN14470 standard requirements).
• Possibility of charging batteries inside the cabinet - in this case, power sockets for charging must be purchased separately. 

Lithium-ion battery cabinet equipment:

• 4 storage levels, including 1 lower sump with grating, 
• grounding, leveling feet,
• strong steel handle along the entire length of the door,
• pallet base facilitating transport,

You can additionally equip the cabinet with an automatic fire suppression system, which provides even greater safety during charging of lithium-ion batteries. In models with an integrated fire extinguishing system, once fire is detected, it is activated automatically and starts the extinguishing process.

Double protection: from the outside and from the inside

This fire-resistant cabinet for lithium-ion batteries complies with two separate safety standards — each of which protects against a different hazard.

EN 14470-1 certificate — protection against external fire

The EN 14470-1 standard confirms that the cabinet can withstand exposure to fire from the surrounding environment (e.g. a fire in a hall or warehouse) for a specified period of time — our cabinets for 90 minutes. This provides a realistic time window for evacuation and fire-fighting operations, during which the batteries stored in the cabinet remain safe.

VDMA 24994 test — fire protection from the inside

VDMA 24994 is a test specifically designed for lithium-ion batteries. What happens if the battery itself fails and causes uncontrolled overheating (known as ‘thermal runaway’) inside the cabinet? The test result is clear-cut: pass or fail.

Our cabinet passed this test successfully: during a controlled test, a cell inside the chamber caught fire and exploded, and yet:

• no flames appeared on the outside,
• the temperature of the external walls remained within safe limits,
• the fire did not spread to the other batteries in the cupboard,
• The door’s structure and locks remained intact.
